The weather folks aren’t kidding when they said this month (July 2010) is the hottest on record! Fortunately this weekend’s celebration was once again on the coast so the breeze off L.I. Sound helped somewhat. With Cathy and Pat’s ceremony scheduled for 7pm, the temps moderated somewhat and the breeze off the Sound kept all comfortable. A sweet and fun-loving couple, Cathy and Pat were celebrated by 60 of their closest friends and family in this very picturesque, low-key setting.
The ceremony was highlighted by the Sand Ceremony in which each part of Cathy and Pat’s families, from youngest to oldest contributed a different color sand to the ceremonial Vial. The result was a beautiful keepsake acknowledging their Union.
With the help of Saturday’s heat, some great requests and a friendly bartender, the Brides and their guests (undoubtedly more trim when the evening ended then before it started) danced into the first chapter of their lives as a married couple.
Their closing song? The Glee Cast version of Kelly Clarkson’s `My life would suck without you’.
What a great State we live in!
Congratulations, Cathy and Pat!
