The weather god’s shined on Jill and Raul’s wedding at the bucolic Winvian, a self-described `relais chateau’ in Morris, CT. The Winvian consists of 17  wooded cottages encircling the main Gordon Brown House whose immediate grounds are where receptions are held. This one-time working 18th century farm was purchased and transformed into this idyllic retreat exuding a fusion of both Old World (many Europeans work here) and New World charm, complete with Spa. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, certainly Jill and Raul as well as their guests and this DJ, discovered it here off the beaten path in Morris.

A picture perfect day in the mid 70’s greeted their guests who had ample time to stroll these beautiful grounds before the ceremony took place. Walking into `Theme from A Summer’s Place’ the Bride was absolutely ravishing and Raul, well….a lucky man. After a short ceremony, Jill and Raul meandered around the grounds for their photos while their guests enjoyed cocktails under the Big Top and patio areas on either side of the Gordon Brown’s reception area.

Segueing dinner, Jill and Raul were introduced to their first dance song, Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat’s `Lucky’ and before stations were opened for a very casual dinner, the dancing was underway. Stylings of the Rat Pack with a blend of Portuguese artists early gave way to everything from oldies, swing, disco and Top 40 club. Fifteen minutes before closing my exuberant Bride came running up to inform me she just got permission to continue for another hour and I was more than happy to oblige….we were having so much fun, I didn’t want to leave either!

Next to last dance…DJ Sammy’s `Heaven’; last dance Louis Prima’s `Buono Sera’. `Pretty sure not many of Jill and Raul’s guests ever ate dinner!

Have a wonderful time in the Bahamas guys(!)…I hope to see you again real soon.
