After a very soggy start to the Fall, the clouds parted on this glorious first Saturday of October ushered in by newlyweds, Jess and Brendan Grant. The Branford House at Avery Point in Groton was the setting, beautifully staged by wedding planners Talia and Lindsay of Sixpence for your Shoe. Their guests hailed from across the U.S.A. with a very large and vocal contingent of fellow Alums (Dukes) from James Madison University. Cocktail hour took place on the portico before introductions continued the celebration into the West Wing, with their first dance to `Better than Love’ by Griffin House. After dinner in the Loggia and East Wing, guests observed cake cutting and parent dances back in the West Wing segueing evening’s dancing, primarily to 80’s and current top 40 dance tunes. Our packed dance floor of celebrants closed the evening with Journey’s `Don’t stop believing’. A warm, welcoming, wonderful couple and two great families Jess and Brendan, I wish you all the best!
