On a blazing hot 1st Saturday of July, Debbie & Rob exchanged their vows at the at the surprising Bella Vista banquet facility located at Hawk’s Landing Country Club in Southington, CT.

The view from the Ceremony site with the first Tee as backdrop, alone was worth the good fortune of an invite to this wonderful couple’s wedding celebration. With ceremony complete, guests made their way to the air- conditioned confines of Bella Vista where a sumptuous Cocktail hour awaited.

With some interesting (Wedding Party) choices for intro songs (Skrillex- Bangarang, Mims- This is why I’m hot) ; Bride & Groom, really two big kids at heart came pounding onto the dance floor to Saliva’s- “Ladies and Gentlemen”. A tender Love Story segued their first dance (to) Blake Shelton’s- “God gave me you”.

Towards end of dinner found Debbie & Rob leading their family and friends on the dance floor,  where most genres of music were sampled, everything from a Viennese Waltz and Polish Polka to the B-52’s , Pitbull &  Macklemore.

As I said in your Love Story,  I wish both of you a wonderful rest of your life’s journey and with your children to light the way, I’m confident both of your glasses will be overflowing.

Alles gutes!

This month of June…..I just feel compelled to mentioned the weather- constantly raining (more than 10 inches for the month!) and lots of humidity. Yet, not one of my 10 June weddings experienced rain for (outdoor portion) of the celebration.

Rebecca and Aaron’s wedding was no different. And their wedding took place at St. Clements Castle in Portland. You would be hard pressed to find a prettier setting in the state of Connecticut for a wedding.

Their ceremony overlooked a breath- taking vista of the Connecticut River valley. OK so it was or rather became a ‘breezy’ afternoon, just prior to start of Ceremony. So much so that the beautiful handmade Chuppah took flight just prior to Ceremony start time. We were in good hands though, as Sarah’s Uncle, JP Peter Anderson held his ground and delivered a very memorable service celebrating the newlyweds.

After the obligatory toasts (an especially lighthearted one by BM Sean Filipo!), wedding party and guests enjoyed ‘stations style’ dining, with Cake cutting and Parent dances segueing after dinner dancing. And what an eclectic mix of music we celebrated to, everything from disco to hip hop, country, touch of techno and current Top 40 dance.

Wonderful couple, fun guests, GREAT TIMES!

White / DiPalma Wedding, 06.22.13  –  Lake of Isles, North Stonington, CT

In June 2013, one of the wettest months on record here in Connecticut, fortune smiled on those weddings unvisited by rain.

Jamie and Becky were such a couple.

With a serene setting waterside at Lake of Isles in North Stonington, the Ceremony unfolded before gathered family and friends as the brides processed to Hans Zimmer’s “You’re so cool”. Becky in a very smart, crisp white pants suit was given away by her dad, Vincent DiPalma and Jamie, in a strapless long white dress reminiscent of a Pharoah, was given away by her daughter, Alanah. After recessing to Jason Mraz’ “I’m yours”, the Brides and their wedding party were off for pictures as their guests made their way indoors for cocktails.

The brides danced to “The way I am” by Ingrid Michaelson upon their grand introduction to the strains of Katy Perry’s “I kissed a girl”!

Dinner was preceded by Becky’s parents’ welcome of the guests, with some particularly beautiful words by her Mom, Linda. After a wonderful meal by the Lake of Isles staff, the very energetic guests got down and cut the rug to a very eclectic mix of music from disco through current Top 40 dance.

About an hour before closing time, the Bride’s surprised their guests with, are you ready(?)- a ‘Garter’ ritual, with Becky performing a very spirited removal of the garter off Jamie and upon conclusion, tossing it to gathered guests, while Jamie tossed a bouquet. They were literally, ‘Anybody’s to catch’! The celebrations ended with the song “The Time” by Black Eyed Peas.

What an awesome couple, fun families and friends- Great times!
